ARF invests in practical, community‑focused programs that help families today and open doors for tomorrow. Below are our first three focus areas, with room to grow as new needs and opportunities arise.
Energy Savings Program (ESP)
Free whole-home weatherization improvements that lower power bills and improve comfort for families who qualify. ESP provides an in‑home assessment and tailored upgrades – such as insulation, air sealing, smart thermostats, and efficient lighting – at no cost to participants.
Workforce and Community Advancement Programs
ARF supports workforce training in digital, technical, and energy-related fields, partnering with employers, small businesses, and training providers to connect Alabamians in underserved communities to living-wage careers in broadband, energy efficiency, and technology.
Programs will roll out statewide, focused on communities with limited training resources.
Rural Broadband & ADEN Infrastructure
ARF helps power the Alabama Digital Education Network (ADEN) by funding broadband and fixed‑wireless solutions at learning hubs and in nearby homes and small businesses. We also support access to digital devices so students and educators can fully participate in a digital‑first curriculum.
